Jen Weaver started her journey in healthcare as an Occupational Therapist. She attended the University of Southern California and was motivated to implement evidence-based practice (EBP) and inspired to “do research”. However, right away it was recognized to be easier said than done.

Her first stop as an Occupational Therapist was in an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Southern California. She was supported by her colleagues to advance her education and pursue research endeavors. Her journey has brought her across the country with opportunities to experience practice in Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. She now attends The George Washington University’s PhD program in Translational Health Sciences. It was recognizing the gaps in practice that led her to advance her education to better understand how we can provide evidence-based care and keep the patient at the forefront.

She is interested in reducing the time it takes research to enter practice and support clinicians by researching what matters for practicing clinicians.
